Shopify Migration

Shopify migration services that don't cost you your rankings.

Moving to Shopify from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, WordPress, or another Shopify store. We plan every product, customer, order and URL before anything moves, test the migration on a staging store, and cut over with your SEO intact.

The problem

The risky part of a migration isn't the new store. It's what gets left behind.

Getting products into Shopify is the easy part. Shopify's own Store Migration app will bring products and customers across from a handful of platforms. It won't bring your order history, collections, navigation, blog posts, reviews or SEO data, and it doesn't support Magento or BigCommerce at all.

The damage usually shows up after launch. Shopify uses fixed URL paths, so almost every product and category URL changes. Without a redirect for each one, the pages that bring in your search traffic start returning 404s. Customers can't log in because passwords can't be migrated. Integrations with your ERP, 3PL or email platform stop syncing.

A good migration is mostly planning. We map every piece of data and every URL before the move, run a full test migration on a staging store, and only cut over once the numbers match.

What this includes

Everything that ships with a Shopify migration

Migration audit and data map

We inventory your products, variants, customers, orders, content, apps and integrations, and decide where each one lands in Shopify before anything moves.

Product and catalog migration

Products, variants, images, SKUs, prices, inventory, collections and metafields, cleaned up on the way in rather than copied across as-is.

Customer migration

Customer records, addresses and tags moved across, plus an account invite plan, because passwords can't be transferred from any platform.

Order history migration

Past orders brought into Shopify through the Admin API or dedicated import tooling, so customer lifetime value and support history aren't lost.

Content and blog migration

Pages, blog posts, images and navigation rebuilt in Shopify's structure, with internal links updated to the new URLs.

SEO redirects and URL mapping

Every old URL mapped to its closest new page and imported as 301 redirects, with titles, meta descriptions and structured data carried over.

Theme, apps and integrations

A new or rebuilt Shopify theme, replacement apps for your old plugins, and your ERP, 3PL, CRM and email integrations reconnected.

Cutover and post-launch monitoring

A planned launch window with a final sync of new orders, DNS switch, and 30 days of monitoring for 404s, crawl errors and data issues.

How we approach this

How we run a Shopify migration.

1

Audit and plan

1-2 weeks

Data inventory, URL export, app and integration review. You get a written migration plan with what moves, how, and what gets retired.

2

Test migration

1-3 weeks

A full migration into a staging store. We check record counts, spot-check products and orders, and build the redirect map against real URLs.

3

Build and connect

2-6 weeks

Theme, apps, integrations and content, built on the migrated data so QA happens on your real catalog, not sample products.

4

Cutover and monitor

Launch + 30 days

Final delta sync, redirects live, DNS switch, then daily checks on Search Console, 404s and orders until the store is stable.

What you can expect

What a planned migration protects.

Every URL

Mapped to a redirect decision before launch, not after rankings drop

Staging

A full test migration before your live store is touched

Delta sync

Orders placed during cutover are carried across, not lost

30 days

Post-launch monitoring for 404s, crawl errors and data issues

Common questions

Common questions about Shopify Migration Services

Not if the redirects are done properly. Shopify uses fixed URL paths for products, collections, pages and blogs, so most of your URLs will change. We map every old URL to its closest new page, import them as 301 redirects, carry over titles and meta descriptions, and monitor Search Console after launch. Rankings usually dip briefly and recover when redirects are complete. Most lasting losses come from missing redirects.
Yes, with one limit. Customer records and past orders can be migrated through the Shopify Admin API or dedicated import tooling, which Shopify's free Store Migration app doesn't cover. Customer passwords can't be transferred from any platform, so we set up account invite emails that let customers re-activate their accounts on Shopify.
WooCommerce, Magento and Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, custom-built stores, and other Shopify stores, including merging stores or moving to Shopify Plus. If your platform can export data or has an API, we can usually migrate it.
It depends on catalog size, how much order history you want to keep, the number of integrations, and whether the theme is being rebuilt at the same time. A simple catalog move costs far less than a migration with years of orders, custom integrations and a new theme. We give you a fixed quote after the migration audit, once we know exactly what's moving.
A straightforward migration with a standard theme usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Larger catalogs, full order history, custom integrations or a bespoke theme push it to 8 to 12 weeks. The audit and test migration at the start are what keep the launch date predictable.
No. Your current store keeps trading while we build and test on a separate Shopify store. At cutover we run a final sync of new orders and customers, switch DNS, and make redirects live, usually in a short, planned window at your quietest time.
Yes. Shopify-to-Shopify migrations are common when merging brands, splitting a store by region, or moving to a new store on Shopify Plus. The same process applies: data map, test migration, redirects and a planned cutover.
