Shopify AI Automation

Let AI run the busywork in your Shopify store. Keep your team on the decisions.

AI and ecommerce automation services for Shopify and Shopify Plus stores worldwide. We build AI agents that handle product data, support triage, stock checks and reporting, connect them to your store through Shopify's APIs and MCP, and back them with Flow workflows and ERP, 3PL and inventory integrations that hold up at volume.

The problem

Most Shopify stores run on a few people copying data between tabs.

It starts small. Someone tags high-risk orders by hand, exports a CSV for the warehouse every morning, re-types invoices into QuickBooks or NetSuite, and fixes stock counts when two sales channels oversell the same item. At fifty orders a day that's an annoyance. At five hundred it's a full-time job, and the mistakes cost real money.

Apps and connectors fix part of it. Shopify Flow handles a lot of store logic on its own, and there's a connector for most ERPs. What rules can't do is judgment: rewriting a thin product description, deciding which support email is urgent, noticing that a bestseller will stock out before the next purchase order lands. That's the work AI is now good enough to take on.

The risk is handing an AI the keys to your store. We build AI agents with narrow permissions, clear jobs and a person approving anything that touches money, prices or customers. Underneath, we use the simplest tool that holds up at your volume: Flow first, a proven connector where one fits, and custom code only where the other two break.

What this includes

Everything that ships with a Shopify AI automation engagement

Operations audit

We map your order, inventory, fulfilment, support and finance workflows, find where time and errors pile up, and decide which jobs suit rules, which suit AI, and which should stay with a person.

AI agents for store operations

Agents that work through your store's data on a schedule or on request: daily stock and sales reports, slow-mover and stockout warnings, order exception reviews, with actions queued for your approval.

AI product data and catalog management

Product descriptions, titles, tags, alt text and SEO fields drafted and cleaned up in bulk from your supplier data and brand voice, then reviewed before they go live.

AI support triage

Incoming customer emails and chats sorted by intent and urgency, order status answered from live Shopify data, and replies drafted for your team to send.

Shopify MCP and API connections

Your AI tools connected to Shopify through the Admin API and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, with scoped access, logging and rate limits, so an assistant can read and act on real store data safely.

Shopify Flow workflows

Order tagging, fraud and risk holds, low-stock alerts, customer segmentation, B2B approvals and fulfilment rules, built and tested in Shopify Flow.

Custom Flow triggers and actions

When Flow's built-in steps aren't enough, we build Flow extensions in a custom app so your workflows can read from and write to your other systems.

ERP and accounting integration

Orders, customers, products, payouts and refunds synced with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Odoo and other ERPs, using an existing connector or a custom integration.

Inventory and multi-location sync

Stock levels kept in step across Shopify locations, warehouses, marketplaces and POS systems such as Lightspeed, with rules for buffers and oversell protection.

Order routing and 3PL integration

Orders routed to the right warehouse or 3PL, tracking numbers written back to Shopify, and exceptions flagged for a person instead of lost in a queue.

B2B and wholesale workflows

Company account approvals, price list updates, payment terms and reorder reminders, automated around Shopify's B2B features.

Custom apps and webhooks

Private Shopify apps built on the GraphQL Admin API and webhooks for the logic no app or connector covers, with retries, logging and alerts built in.

How we approach this

How we bring AI into a Shopify store.

1

Map the operation

1-2 weeks

We walk through orders, stock, fulfilment and finance with the people who do the work, and list every manual step, handoff and recurring error.

2

Design and quote

1 week

For each job we choose an AI agent, Flow, a connector or custom code, explain why, and define what needs human approval. You get a fixed-price scope before anything is built.

3

Build and test

2-8 weeks

Built against a development store and real sample data, including the edge cases: refunds, partial fulfilments, split shipments, cancelled orders.

4

Launch and monitor

Ongoing

Staged go-live, alerts on failed syncs, and documentation your team can follow. Retainer support for changes as your operation grows.

What you can expect

What a properly automated store gets back.

Human approval

AI drafts and flags; a person signs off on anything touching prices, refunds or customers

No re-keying

Orders, payouts and refunds reach your ERP or accounting system without copy and paste

Alerts

Failed syncs and stuck orders flagged in minutes, not discovered days later

Documented

Every workflow and integration written up, in your accounts, owned by you

Common questions

Common questions about Shopify AI Automation & Integration Services

Parts of it, yes. AI is now reliable at work that needs judgment but follows a pattern: writing and fixing product content, sorting support messages, summarising sales and stock, and spotting orders that look wrong. It shouldn't make pricing, refund or supplier decisions, or message customers, without review. We build agents that do the legwork and hand the decision to a person, and we run parts of our own agency the same way, on AI agents connected to our systems through MCP.
Sidekick and Shopify Magic are Shopify's built-in AI tools, and they're worth using. They work inside the Shopify admin, one request at a time. Custom AI agents can run on a schedule, work across systems Shopify doesn't see, such as your ERP, helpdesk, 3PL or supplier feeds, and follow your own rules and brand voice. Often the right setup uses both.
Only with guardrails, which is how we build them. Each agent gets the narrowest API scopes its job needs, every action is logged, and anything that changes prices, issues refunds, edits live products or messages customers is queued for approval rather than done automatically. You can see what an agent did and switch it off at any time.
A lot of store logic: tagging orders and customers, holding risky orders, alerting on low stock, hiding sold-out products, routing B2B orders for approval, and sending internal notifications. Flow is included on Shopify's paid plans, though some features vary by plan, so we check what's available on yours during the audit. Flow reaches its limits when a workflow needs data from a system Shopify doesn't connect to, complex multi-step logic, or high-volume syncing, which is where connectors and custom apps come in.
Use a connector when your process matches what it was built for. For standard order, product and inventory sync with NetSuite, QuickBooks or Xero, a well-supported connector is usually cheaper and faster. Custom integration makes sense when you have custom fields, unusual fulfilment rules, several systems in the chain, or a connector that keeps failing quietly. We'll tell you which one fits, including when the answer is an off-the-shelf app.
Yes. We connect Shopify with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Odoo and other ERPs, either by configuring an established connector or by building a custom integration on the Shopify Admin API and the ERP's API. Either way, we map orders, customers, products, inventory, payouts and refunds field by field, and add monitoring so failures are visible.
No. Flow, custom apps, webhooks and most ERP and 3PL integrations work on standard Shopify plans. Some capabilities are plan-dependent, such as certain checkout customisations and parts of Shopify's B2B features, so we confirm what your plan supports before scoping. If an automation would only work on Plus, we say so up front.
A focused project, such as one AI agent, a set of Flow workflows or one integration, typically starts around US$3,000-8,000. AI model usage runs on your own provider account, so you see exactly what it costs. Multi-system integrations with custom apps and several data flows scale from there. Ongoing automation support on retainer starts at US$1,500/month. You get a fixed quote after the operations audit, once we know exactly what's being automated.
Shopify versions its APIs and gives notice before older versions are retired, and we build against supported versions with that schedule in mind. Every integration we build logs its activity and alerts on failures, so a breaking change shows up as an alert rather than missing orders. Clients on retainer get API upgrades handled as part of the support.
Yes. We sync inventory and orders between Shopify and POS systems such as Lightspeed, marketplaces such as Amazon, and 3PLs and warehouses, using their APIs, EDI or file-based feeds where that's all they offer.
